JEE (Mains) and NEET 2019 tentative schedule released by NTA

National Testing Agency (NTA) has released tentative dates for JEE (Mains) and NEET for 2019. NTA was approved by the Union Cabinet in November 2017 as an Autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization to conduct entrance examinations for higher educational Institutions. Starting 2019, NTA plans to conduct JEE (Main) and NEET which were conducted by CBSE till 2018.

Tentative schedule for JEE (Main) 2019

(A) Jan 2019 Exam

Online submission of application forms : 1 Sep 2018 to 30 Sep 2018

Dates of examination : 6 Jan 2019 to 20 Jan 2019 (8 different sittings, and candidate can choose any one)

Declaration of results : First week of Feb 2019

(B) April 2019 Exam

Online submission of application forms : Second week of Feb 2019

Dates of examination : 7 Apr 2019 to 21 Apr 2019 (8 different sittings, and candidate can choose any one)

Declaration of results : First week of May 2019

Tentative schedule for NEET (UG) 2019

(A) Feb 2019 Exam

Online submission of application forms : 1 Oct 2018 to 31 Oct 2018

Dates of examination : 3 Feb 2019 to 17 Feb 2019 (8 different sittings, and candidate can choose any one)

Declaration of results : First week of Mar 2019

(B) May 2019 Exam

Online submission of application forms : Second week of Mar 2019

Dates of examination : 12 May 2019 to 26 May 2019 (8 different sittings, and candidate can choose any one)

Declaration of results : First week of June 2019

Key points

a) The syllabus and the pattern of question paper would remain the same.

b) There will be NO increase in the exam fees currently being charged.

c) JEE (Main) and NEET (UG) will be conducted twice before admissions in the next academic session. However, sitting in both the tests will not be compulsory.

d) The two tests (each for JEE (Main) & NEET (UG)) will be equated using psychometric methods, standardisation techniques and best of the equated scores will be used for the admissions.

e) The examinations for all candidates will be conducted in online (computer based) mode only.

f) Tests will be conducted in multiple sittings and a candidate will have an option of dates to choose from.

g) Scores of different candidates in multiple sittings will also be equated using standardization techniques.

h) NTA will establish a network of test practice centres for students of rural areas so that everyone will have an opportunity to practice before the exam. Schools / engineering colleges with computer centres would be identified and kept open on Saturday/Sunday starting from 3rd week of August. Any student can use the facility free of charge.

i) Examinations will be held in existing number of languages.
